Winter in New England is always a slower season for photographers. I like to use the down time to work on my studio marketing and promotions. This winter I have re-vamped my shopping cart and and working on a new web design! I’ve also been keen at attend a few photography conferences to brush up my skills, network with other photographers and have time to focus on my business (and not emptying the dish washer!).
Last month I attended the NAPCP Retreat at Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro GA. It was an intimate setting with only about 70 other (mainly female) photographers. This coming month I will be attending the Inspire Photo Retreats in Newport RI. I’m particularly excited about this one because it’s closer to home and will allow me to reconnect with a lot of local photographers I haven’t seen since before our year abroad.
Every January I like to purchase some great tools to keep me organized:
Moleskin 2016 Weekly Calendar: This small, think notebooks are a great way to keep track of to-do items for me.
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing: So many have been talking about this book…a new year is a great time to be cleaning up the clutter!
LaCie 1TB Rugged Thunderbolt External Hard Drive (USB 3.0) : BACK UP BACK UP BACK UP! Just do it…external storage is so cheap these days it’s a sin not to!
